EducAid Sierra Leone, which runs a network of schools in Sierra Leone for children who’d otherwise receive no
education. The fundraiser event has live music, art auction and Sierra Leone clothing and jewellery for sale.

World Mission Sunday
Next Sunday, 18 October, we celebrate World Mission Sunday, when Catholics across the world unite in prayer
and generosity for the Church’s missionary work. Pope Leo XIV invites us to be “One in Christ, One in Mission.” There
will be a special collection at Sunday Masses. Pick up a Missio newsletter at the back of Church.
Pray As You Grow is a space for children and young people to journey through scripture and use their imaginations in prayer. Short, engaging, easy to follow, with versions tailored to three age groups. We’re working on more children’s resources now, so if you or your kids have any feedback then we’d love to hear it. Responding to a request for catechesis and deepening our faith, we are planning a series on ‘Understanding the
Eucharist’. These will be two-hour sessions, monthly on Sundays from September to December 1-3pm.

Fr Stefan Park OSA – Silver Jubilee>>>
Saturday 17 October | 2:30pm-6:00pm | St Joseph’s, Broomhouse, Edinburgh
All are welcome to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Fr Stefan Park OSA, who has strong links with St Joseph’s, Broomhouse, where he was ordained to the priesthood in 2001. The afternoon includes prayer, Exposition, Confession, a talk from Fr Stefan and healing prayers, with Holy Mass at 5:00pm.
Catholic Conversations for Women

Mission Sunday Sunday 18 October
This year marks the 100th anniversary of World Mission Sunday, with the theme “One in Christ – United in Mission.” Catholics are invited to pray for the Church’s mission throughout the world and support the annual collection, which this year highlights projects in Albania and Ukraine
Dinner and a Documentary

Join the Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan, for an evening of film, pizza and conversation celebrating 10 years of the Sisters serving in the Archdiocese. Watch a short documentary about their community life, meet the Sisters and take part in a Q&A. All welcome.
National Family Conference

Edinburgh Day for Life

SPUC Edinburgh West hosts its first Day for Life. The event will explore pro-life issues including support for unborn children and their mothers and concerns around assisted suicide. Admission is free but registration is required.
Walking Together in Hope

A free day exploring why the Catholic Church engages in interreligious dialogue and how this can be lived out in our parishes and communities. The programme includes talks, discussion and practical guidance, with a light lunch provided.
