Policy Statement on Safeguarding
Bishops’ Conference for Scotland
“The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God’s purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.”
Further information can be found in detail in the policy document ‘In God’s Image’

Safe Guarding Training Sessions for both parishes
Please see the details below of Part 2 online training sessions which are available to be booked, for those who undertake work with children and vulnerable adults and already have (or are in the process of applying for) PGV clearance.
This training is for volunteers who have already attended Part 1 training – it is the first time that Part 2 training has been offered – so the training which you will have attended previously, either at St Peter’s, St Columba’s or in other parishes, will have been Part 1.
